Casey Anthony's Court Days Not Over Yet

Although Casey Anthony was acquitted of the 2008 death of her daughter, her court days are far from behind her. Along with a defamation lawsuit that has already been filed in civil court, several other lawsuits are expected to be filed. Believing that they were lied to and mislead many are looking to be reimbursed for money that was spent to search for Caylee.

Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez filed the defamation suit after Anthony named her as the nanny that had kidnapped her daughter. According to Gonzalez, police questioned her about Caylee Anthony's disappearance at her apartment which lead to suffering and economic stress. She said she was fired from her job, had to move and received numerous death threats against both her and her children.

Leonard Padilla, a bounty hunter in California plans to sue Anthony as well. He is asking for $200,000 which he claims he spent searching for Caylee. Padilla paid a $50,000 bond to get Anthony out of jail and at one point even offered a $25,000 reward for Caylee's safe return. Among other expenses he cites providing security for Anthony.

Officials in Florida are also asking that the enormous amount of money that was spent investigating the case be repaid. By Florida law, the state has the right to recoup any money spent during a criminal case. Texas EquuSearch will also be suing Anthony for the $112,000 it spent. The firm says it used 4,200 searchers when the child was reported missing.
